Nainital is a famous tourist hill station situated at an altitude of 2084 meters above the sea level, located at the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand state. This is also called the Lake District of India. Nainital is the most favorite travel destination among the International & Domestic tourist. The name of Nainital is originated from its Famous lake “Naini Lake” which has a shape of Eye. Nainital is the Shakti peethas according to the Hindu Mythology. This story based on the goddess Sati who was the first wife of Lord Shiva. Naini Lake is among one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, which came into existence when the dissected body parts of the goddess Sati fell over the different places all over India. When the supreme God Lord Vishnu cuts dead body of Sati with his Sudarshan Chakra, the place where Goddess Sati eyes have fallen that holy place called Nain-tal & the worshiped place is called the Naina Devi temple located at the north shore of the lake.
